LAWRENCE, Kan. — Jalen Coleman-Lands is headed to Kansas for his sixth year of college basketball. The Indianapolis native announced Wednesday he will transfer to Kansas as a graduate transfer. This will be the 6-foot-4 guard’s fourth college after stops at Illinois, DePaul and Iowa State.
In one season as a Cyclone, Coleman-Lands averaged a career-high 14.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists while shooting 39.5 percent from behind the 3-point line.
Coleman-Lands has decided he needs a year in Lawrence to cap off his college sojourn. He told the Lawrence Journal-World that he started talking to coach Bill Self about two weeks ago.
Coleman-Lands announcement comes on the heels of the announcement of Arizona State transfer Remy Martin’s decision to make KU his backup plan if he doesn’t go to the NBA. KU starters Ochai Agbaji and Jalen Wilson are still currently testing the pro waters, as well.
