TOPEKA, Kan. – The Baylor baseball team was able to take 2 of 3 games in Lawrence, Kansas this weekend. It was the second straight Big 12 series win for the Bears. Baylor improved to 5-7 in conference play and 24-12 overall. Freshman centerfielder, Jared McKenzie, was probably the best player this weekend. He recorded 7 hits and brought his average up to .386.
Now that basketball is over I’m sure this team is going to start receiving a lot more attention. They’re a fun squad to watch. The team has several quality young players mixed in with solid veterans. The weekend rotation is not the caliber it has been in some of Baylor’s better years, but its been enough for the team to have a chance at a tournament bid.
Baylor will travel to Lubbock to take on Texas Tech next weekend.
