Kansas unemployment rates quickly recovering, according to study

KANSAS – Kansas unemployment claims are among the quickest in the country to recover, study claims.

WalletHub.com reports Kansas unemployment claims for the week of April 12 are down more than 94% compared to this time last year. The study claims there were 547,000 new unemployment claims nationwide, down from the 6.1 million during the peak of the pandemic.

According to the study, Kansas ranks fourth among states whose unemployment have recovered the quickest since last week. It also reported Kansas ranks third in states whose unemployment claims have recovered the quickest since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kansas also had the third smallest increase in unemployment claims during the week of April 12 compared to the same time last year.
