Police investigating overnight stabbing in southwest Topeka

TOPEKA, Kan. – The Topeka Police Department has one person in custody after a Friday morning stabbing seriously injured a man.

The Topeka Police Department says officers found one male victim in a Friday morning stabbing who suffered serious injuries. It said the man was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

TPD said it also found a suspect who was immediately taken to the Law Enforcement Center for questioning. It said Troy M. Chambers, 43, of Topeka, was booked into the Shawnee Co. Department of Corrections for aggravated battery.

Topeka police are investigating a stabbing early Friday on the city’s southwest side.

Authorities said emergency crews were called at 1:16 a.m. to a residence in the 2600 block of S.W. Indian Trail regarding a stabbing.

The location was just north of Crestview Park.

There was no immediate word on the extent of injuries.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident and additional details weren’t immediately available.
