TOPEKA, Kan. – Douglas County reported 9,254 cases of COVID-19 as of Monday, an increase of 18 cases since Friday.
In Douglas County, 9,063 out of the 9,254 cases are inactive or beyond the infectious period, according to Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health, meaning 191 cases are active.
The county has averaged about six new cases per day over the last 14 days, according to a 14-day moving average graph updated weekdays by the health department. The current average of 5.86 cases is the lowest average the county has seen since June and is down from a recent high of nine cases per day in April.
Douglas County has a 14-day COVID-19 incidence rate of 68.17 per 100,000 people and a test positivity rate of 1.9%. Positivity rates are 2.1% in Lawrence, 1.3% in Eudora and 0% in Baldwin City and Lecompton. Five patients at Lawrence’s hospital had COVID-19 on Monday, one more than Friday. To date, 87 Douglas County residents have died from COVID-19.
