KBI investigating woman’s death in northeast Kansas

Kansas – The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is investigating after a woman was found dead in her apartment Monday morning.

On Sunday evening, a concerned citizen called the Burlingame Police Department when she couldn’t reach her friend. Officers went to check on 49-year-old Cristina Pratt at her apartment in the 100 block of West Lincoln, but the apartment was quiet and nobody answered the door.

Officers returned Monday morning and had the owner unlock the apartment. At approximately 9:30 p.m., officers entered the apartment and found Pratt dead inside.

The Osage County Sheriff’s Office requested KBI assistance at approximately 12:25 p.m. Special agents and the Crime Scene Response Team responded.

KBI, the Osage County Sheriff’s Office and the Burlingame Police Department are investigating the incident. Officials believe Pratt is the victim of foul play.
