Major marijuana distribution ring busted in Shawnee County

SHAWNEE COUNTY — A major drug ring is busted on Feb. 1 at four locations in Shawnee County after multiple law enforcement authorities engaged and arrested three suspects.

Reportedly, members of the Topeka Police Department Narcotics Unit, Shawnee County Drug Task Force, and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation served search warrants in the 2700 Block SW Stutley Road, 1700 Block SW Belle Avenue, 5500 SW 17th Terrace and 5300 Block SW 17th Street, according to Lt. Jerry Monasmith.

Officers located marijuana, drug paraphernalia and firearms at all four locations.

The authorities arrested Xin Zhu, 29, Ru Zhu, 50 and Sun Teng, 33, all living in Topeka.

They were all booked into Shawnee County Department of Corrections.

Xin Zhu is being held on requested charges of possession of marijuana with the intent of distribution, use of a communication facility in commission of a felony drug violation, and possession of drug paraphernalia with the intent of distribution.

Ru Zhu and Sun Teng are jailed on requested charges of possession of marijuana with the intent of distribution and possession of drug paraphernalia with the intent of distribution.
