TOPEKA, KS- On Sunday around 7:45 a.m the Shawnee County Sheriff’s officers were about to make an arrest in the 1200 block of S.W. Wanamaker Road, where one person was fatally shot.
The identity of the male that was shot was not released to the public, nor the name of the one who shot him.
Reportedly, the shooting occurred between Quality Inn and Relax Inn motels, where the Shawnee deputies attempted to make an arrest for a felony connected to a vehicle pursuit that occurred Friday.
The investigation is led by the Northeast Kansas Sheriff’s Officer-Involved Critical Incident Response Team, according to the sheriff, Brian Hill.
