We asked Topekans who serves the best pancakes in town. Here are the top 5.

TOPEKA, Kan. – Are you a “two-stack of pancakes with butter and a drizzle of syrup” person, or “tall stack of pancakes loaded with chocolate chips and whipped cream” folk?

Whatever your order, we won’t judge. With International Pancake Day coming up Feb. 16, now is a great time to determine the best spots in Topeka.

The options are endless, from staples such as Hanover Pancake House, Bradley’s Corner Cafe and Banjo’s Cafe to breakfast newcomers such as The Iron Rail, The White Linen and Norsemen Brewing Co.

We asked community members via social media and a Google Form to tell us their favorite place in Topeka to order pancakes and what their go-to order is. Here are the answers.

Hanover Pancake House

Since 1969, Hanover Pancake House has been serving breakfast and lunch to the Topeka community. The restaurant cooks up everything from pancakes, french toast, breakfast burritos and sandwiches to burgers, salads and wraps.

Recommended pancake orders: Burnett’s Mound Pancake Wrap, buttermilk pancakes with extra butter and maple syrup, chocolate chip pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream and banana pancakes.

Location: 1034 S. Kansas Ave.

Hours: 6 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday; 6 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday

Bradley’s Corner Cafe

Another staple in the Topeka community, Bradley’s — located in the NOTO Arts and Entertainment District — is known for its delectable pies. But that doesn’t mean you can’t order a delicious stack of pancakes here.

The cafe serves everything from pancakes, omelets, biscuits and gravy to open-faced sandwiches, burgers, ribs and chicken fried steak.

Recommended pancake orders: pancake sandwich with bacon and eggs, blueberry pancakes and pancakes with pecans.

Hours: 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday; 6 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday; 6 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday

Banjo’s Cafe

Priding itself on serving up homestyle dishes, Banjo’s Cafe is known for its biscuits and gravy, meatloaf and kitchen sink omelet, but our readers think the pancakes are delicious too.

Banjo’s cooks up breakfast sandwiches, omelets, steak and eggs, burgers, wraps and pie.

Recommended pancake orders: Corny breakfast with pancakes, scrambled eggs and hash browns; Pick Four breakfast with pancakes, bacon, hash browns and eggs; two-stack pancake with a lot of syrup.

Cracker Barrel

Cracker Barrel, a national restaurant chain, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. With a large menu, there is sure to be a dish for everyone, including pancakes.

Recommended pancake orders from Cracker Barrel: blueberry pancakes and pancakes with peaches

Cook’s American Grill

This restaurant has been serving home-cooked meals in the Topeka community for over 20 years. From burgers, sandwiches and salads to omelets, french toast and pancakes, Cook’s has your breakfast and lunch needs covered.

Recommended pancake order: plain pancakes with a little syrup
