The last Kansas county that required residents to wear masks to slow the spread of COVID-19 has allowed the mandate to expire

KANSAS CITY, Kan.  – According to the statement, Wyandotte County’s Board of Commissioners let the health order to expire at midnight.

The vote to extend the order 30 more days was held.

Seven of nine commissioners voted against extending it.

According to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, about 27% of Wyandotte County residents have been fully vaccinated, while just over 30% of residents have received one shot.

41% of Kansans have been vaccinated with one dose.
