SHAWNEE – According to the statement, officers responded to attempted armed robbery in the 7100block of SW Montara Parkway.
This unfortunate incident occurred around 7:00 a.m. Friday
The armed suspect attempted to steal a vehicle and then fled.
He was identified as James McKay IV and officers took him into custody.
He was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charge of aggravated robbery and interference with law enforcement.
The investigation is ongoing.
