TOPEKA, Kan. – As Kansans celebrated the new year, the state Friday added 5,312 more COVID-19 cases bringing its total to 227,745.
According to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, as of 9 a.m. Friday, 2,879 COVID-19 related deaths had been reported, an increase of 138 deaths since Wednesday.
The Kansas Health Association reported Friday there are 896 COVID-19 patients hospitalized statewide. There are 169 staffed ICU beds available.
